Shanghai second quarter food plastic packaging container quality spot checks

With the development of the plastics industry, plastic container products have been used more and more in food packaging. On the supermarket shelves, we can often see various beverages, mineral water, cooking oil, fresh milk, yogurt, soy sauce, etc. Most of them are packed in plastic containers. At present, the main materials used for manufacturing plastic packaging containers include: PET, PC, and PE.

In the second quarter of 2010, the Shanghai Quality Supervision Bureau organized relevant quality inspection agencies to carry out special supervision and spot checks on the food plastic packaging containers in the city's production areas. A total of 79 products were spot-checked. The inspection items included sealing performance, drop performance, suspension test, and piles. Code test, evaporation residue, sensory, Pb, potassium permanganate consumption, decolorization test, etc.

Of the 79 products that were spot-checked, 78 were qualified, and one type of polyethylene blow barrel was damaged after the drop test, and the drop test failed. The overall spot check rate was 98.7%, and the overall product quality was good.
